Q.What is Aesthetic Dentistry?

A. Aesthetic Dentistry helps correct teeth that are discolored, misshapen and abraded.

Our clinic believes aesthetic dentistry is part of preventive health care by repairing small crack that is invisible, use ceramic which has less recurrence risk for decay, to propose the orthodontic to stabilize the dental hygiene.

 

Q.What is the pro of doing ceramic other the appearance?

A. Prevent having a tooth decay.

Ceramic hardly get deteriorated and excellent in durability, hardly changes color and is long-lasting material. Also ceramic is metal allergy-safe.

 

Q.How long does ceramic restoration last?

A. It varies among different individuals.

Depends on how you brush your teeth, habit of grinding teeth, lifestyle and so on.

However, we will help to last long by doing regular maintenance. Our clinic offers free remade of ceramic restoration when it is broken or dropped off if the patient come to clinic every 3~6month for maintenance.

 

Q.What is different by doing within health insurance?

A. The biggest difference is the material.

Health insurance only covers the treatment that is necessary when living. Therefore, it does not consider how it looks or relapse. However, self-pay care fee treatment focuses more on the looks, strength and durability by using ceramic for tooth crown or filling.

 

Q.Can everyone do whitening?

A. Yes, almost everybody can do whitening.

Patient who has tooth decay or heavy periodontal disease, we do treatment first.
However, we don’t recommend patient who are acatalasemia, enamel hypoplasia, dentinogenesis imperfecta, pregnant, lactating as we use drugs.

 

Q.Any harm to the teeth or body by doing whitening?

A. No serious side effect has reported.

Long term usage has proven safe and no harm to the teeth and body.

 

Q.How long does whitening last?

A. Differs from person to person.

Normally, office whitening last about 3~6month and home whitening last about 6~12month.

 

Q.Can I do whitening and aesthetic dentistry at the same time?

A. Yes, it is possible to do at the same time.

False tooth can’t do whitening therefore, after doing whitening except false tooth, we will change the false tooth matching with the color of the other teeth.

 

 

Implant

Q. Does implant surgery painful? How long does it take?

A. We will use a local anesthesia when performing surgery so there is no pain. It will take about 20 minutes for 1 tooth.

We will use a local anesthesia when performing surgery so you won’t feel much pain. 2-3days after the surgery, might be swollen or feel pain, however, not so much as tooth extraction.
By using simulation guide, more than 90% of the surgery are performed without opening the gums.
The surgery takes about 20 minutes for a tooth and even when bone development is necessary, it will take about an hour.
For those who are afraid of the surgery, nitrous oxide or “laughing gas” is available.

 

Q. How many years does implant lasts?

A. Depend on the environment of intraoral and the regular maintenance.

In general, implant made by titanium has proven that last semi permanently if you do a regular maintenance. Conversely, if you fail to do a maintenance, troubles such as peri-implantitis can happen which can cause implant wobble.

 

Q. Can I use a health insurance when doing implant?

A. No, implant is considered as self-pay care.

Implant treatment is not covered by health insurance. However, is eligible for medical expense deduction.
By filing the tax return, you will be able to have a tax refund.

 

Q. Is there are case that can’t perform an implant treatment?

A. Yes, it depends on your intraoral environment and the patient with chronic disease.

Patient with brain disease, heart disease, diabetes, systemic disease and pregnant have high chance of not able to perform implant treatment. We will decide by discussing with your personal doctor whether to perform implant treatment.

 

Q. Is there any difference to undergo surgery at the other dentists?

A. The most important thing when performing implant treatment is technical ability of the doctor.

Our doctor has performed several difficult cases of implant surgery not only in Japan but also in many other countries.

Orthodontic

Q. How long does it take to finish orthodontic and how often do I have to go to the clinic?

A. Adult orthodontic take about 1year and a half or 2 years to finish. 

Firstly, for 3~4 times, patient need to go through a necessary examination, diagnosis, toothbrushing instruction. After starting the orthodontic, patient need to visit clinic every month to check the movement of the teeth and adjust the apparatus. About 1year and a half or 2 years after removing the orthodontic, patient need to use the retainer to prevent the teeth to go back and fix the position of the teeth. After that, patient need to visit clinic for regular check up once or twice a year.

 

Q. Is it painful to put the apparatus?

A. When using the apparatus for the first time, patient might feel their teeth loose.

Orthodontic apparatus has improved a lot than before and so the patient won’t feel the pain. However, when first using the apparatus, patient might feel their teeth loose. But most of the patient will get used to it after 3~4days.

 

Q. What is the difference between drilling and arrange teeth with orthodontic?

A. By doing orthodontic, it is possible to arranging teeth in appropriate position without drilling the teeth.

Making false tooth by drilling tooth, it is possible to arrange teeth in short term. However, it is difficult to do treatment considering the face feature.

Our clinic combines partial orthodontic and aesthetic dentistry to make less harm to the body in short term.

 

Q. Is it possible to do orthodontic when I have ceramic tooth, bridge or devitalization teeth?

A.Yes, however might need to remade the false tooth after doing orthodontic.

For bridge, by using the space made by cutting the connection of the 2 teeth, patient need to remake the bridge or crown.

 

Q. Is the expense of orthodontic part of medical deduction?

A. Depends on the reason of the treatment.

In order to have a medical deduction, patient need the documentation proving the improvement of the function of bad bite. If doing orthodontic for aesthetic reason, can’t cover medical deduction.

 

Q. If I need to move house when doing orthodontic, what happens?

A. Please consult with a doctor as soon as possible.
